WARNINGS REGARDING ‘SPECIALIZED’ DIETS

The Rico Diet

 These diets, and the herbs they use constitute an Herbal Chemotherapy. In other words, just as with regular chemo, if not carefully measured and regulated THEY CAN KILL. And they will if not carefully measured, and your birds demeanor and behavior are not carefully and constantly watched. When and if your bird becomes DIFFERENT….IE: Quieter, more restless, irritable, etc. In other words is behaving totally UNLIKE HIM/HERSELF the herbal therapies should be stopped immediately. Peterkin began to lose weight and to become inactive and disinterested in his toys.  Rico simply stopped moving and sat huddled down in his blankets all day in one position. In both cases, the herbal therapies were immediately stopped and the diets adjusted as needed. Both birds received changes in the herbal content and amounts ….as well as receiving more protein and fat in their diets than they were previously in the first reactive diets to the particular problems expressed.
